Home Project Calculator is an independent collection of material-planning tools. It helps DIY homeowners, renters and small contractors turn measurements into a practical order.

What you can expect

No account is needed. Calculations run in your browser. Assumptions and sources are visible, and manufacturer specifications take priority over example defaults.

We focus on clear material quantities rather than contractor quotations. We are not affiliated with the manufacturers referenced in our methodology and do not claim professional certification or product endorsement.

Why we built it

Most material mistakes happen between the tape measure and the checkout: a missed coat of paint, a wrong cubic-yard conversion, or a waste allowance added twice. Each calculator shows the formula, the assumptions and the rounding step so you can check the number before you spend money.

How we keep it accurate

Unit conversions use exact NIST factors. Default values such as paint coverage or bag sizes are labeled as editable examples, and our guides point you back to the product label and your supplier. When we find an error or a clearer method, we correct the tool and the related guide.
